BodyBoss 2.0 Review

Exercise is great because not only does it help you get in shape and have toned muscles, it has positive effects on your mind, cardiovascular system, and even your bones.

But just as exercise is getting popular, life is also getting more fast-paced. People barely have time for anything else other than work.

There’s a lot to do and places to go with so little time. That’s why for those who are looking to work out while mobile would prefer something they can bring with them.

It can be anything. I, for example, found this in the BodyBoss 2.0 Portable Home Gym.

What is this BodyBoss 2.0 Portable Home Gym?

If it isn’t already obvious, I’ll tell you what it is.

I won’t really say it’s a machine, but an exercise equipment. The reason why I say so is that it doesn’t have a lot with it. But it can do a lot.

I sound confusing, I know. But basically, it’s a platform with bands and hooks where you work out on. It’s focused mainly on – you guessed it –  resistance.

It is engineered to be portable. And it stays true to it by being foldable.

Some people, if not most, just have a lot to accomplish in a day. Professional personal matters can get muddled. And if you’re a mom like I am, you know how the day goes and ends, right?

Going to the gym is impossible on some days. Don’t get me wrong, I love going to the gym. But things just happen, you know?

So, I looked for ways where I can do exercise at home and maybe do some stretches at the office. And my quest led me to this BodyBoss 2.0 Portable Home Gym.

But before anything else, I want to point out that this isn’t the only brand that has this concept. There’s an abundance of portable exercise equipment in the market out there. Even home gyms are increasing in number.

These portable gym equipment are great in concept. But can they actually deliver?

I chose this home gym equipment because it’s got a pretty good fan base. Also, I want to have an uncomplicated home gym equipment.

But before we get to anything else, let’s discuss its features first.

BodyBoss 2.0 Portable Home Gym Features

Now that we got the fact that it’s a home gym equipment out of the way, let’s talk about what it has to offer.

Foldable Base

The base is what makes this whole equipment unique. It allows the bands to attach to the floor. How that’s beneficial is what we’ll discuss in a while.

It has 5 available attachments. It also has a nice grip to the floor and a somewhat cushioning in it.

It folds in half and can be carried with the included bag.

Resistance Bands

The standard package comes with 2 bands. The extra package has 2 more bands.

These bands provide 1-30 lbs of resistance. The farther they’re stretched, the higher the resistance goes. You can also add more resistance by looping them in the holes.

Each of the bands has a clip at both ends so you can attach them to the handle, base, and other attachments.

Attachments

The whole package includes 2 handles, 2 wrist that also doubles as ankle straps, a collapsible workout bar, and a door anchor w/ ring.

Alright, so, what are my thoughts?

Well, initially, I didn’t like it at first. I had small troubles with the hoops and the loops, but nothing major. A few weeks in and I was enjoying myself.

It’s a great portable home gym equipment overall. I can do squats, chest exercises, arms, shoulder, back, and even other leg exercises!

A few weeks in and nothing broke, which is good. And there were no signs of tear as well.

But there are some things I can say about some of the parts.

The base is working perfectly fine. It lets you connect the bands to the floor for a better grip. This also helps tremendously so you won’t be able to step on the bands. I hate that feeling.

Thankfully, it doesn’t happen with this base. Plus you get more control over your movements and resistance. Speaking of resistance, you can control the resistance further through the 5 hooks on each side of the base.

Loop the band around 1 or two and you’ll get more resistance because doing so will shorten the band.

About the grip, I would say it’s got an average grip on the floor because it moves a little on me but just a tiny, tiny bit.

The bands were alright. I would say they’re not that extraordinary, but they work and that’s what’s important. They were durable too.

I just wish they were longer though because I do loop them around the holes of the base.

The handles were durable as well. I switch between them and the bar. The ankle and wrist straps didn’t dig to my skin which is awesome.

Overall, it’s an excellent home gym equipment if you understand that it’s portable and won’t compare to the machines in the gym.

Portable versions like this one from BodyBoss are great if you have a limited time left for the day or night. You can use it anywhere you are! You just have to make sure you bring workout clothes with you.

If you don’t feel like going to the gym, you can exercise with this equipment instead.

Everything from the base to the hooks is durable, which is what portable gym equipment should be. Nobody wants to work on sturdy handles only to find out they broke in just a month.

And must I also note, they are comfortable to work with too!
